Elizma Lambert was invited to speak at the Wistar Institute of Cancer Research at the University of Pennsylvania, US in October 2017.
She presented on “The Role of Microorganisms in Cancer Through Triggering the Cell Danger Response and Disrupting Redox Signalling.” This was to offer an alternate point of view that microorganisms or infections could trigger certain cellular changes that then sets the stage for cancer cells to thrive.
As part of this great opportunity Elizma met with cancer researchers individually over a whole day to learn more about the research they were doing which was a truly fascinating experience.
