Connecting the Dots

Understanding how the body works, how organ systems inter-connect, how histone methylation switches genes on and off, how gene expression influences body systems, how the environment influences gene expression, and how mitochondrial function plays a key role in all of this, is important in understanding disease patterns.

Knowing how to interpret (not read) test results and connect it with symptoms and case history is essential when it comes to putting the puzzle pieces together and make sense of complicated chronic illnesses.

I’m a firm believer that if you understand how everything works, then you can ‘fix’ it.

MTHFR and Beyond

“There is no such thing as a ‘good marker’ or a ‘bad marker’ when it comes to test results.  The body is simply doing what it’s supposed to do.”

Understanding why the body responds in a certain way, and correcting that, is what gets results.

Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics are growing fields in the health and wellness industry as people are looking to either optimize their health for longevity purposes, or looking for answers in their recovery from chronic illness.  This has made MTHFR and methylation a buzz word in many circles.

But MTHFR is only one gene amongst 24,000+ genes.

And gene SNPs or mutations are not a guarantee of gene expression.

And methylation is only one biochemical cycle amongst many others.

This is what we do at MTHFR and Beyond.  We look at all the variables and listen to your story.  Understanding why you are experiencing symptoms on a cellular level, enables us to help with all types of conditions.

The Organic Acid Test:  A snapshot of cellular biochemistry at that point in time.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love using Organic Acid Testing to find patterns that may provide more information that could help find solutions for people with complex health histories.  Having successfully treated many people all over the world, I have earned the reputation of ‘The OAT Whisperer’ for seeing patterns where others only look at individual markers and follow the supplements suggested.

For this reason I have and am mentoring practitioners in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand in how to interpret this and many other tests, and put the puzzle pieces together.  We are also making many courses and webinars available to both the public and practitioners from 2018 onwards, teaching them the intricacies of OAT testing but also other tests and health topics.
