Need to get some tests done?

Most of you would already have a whole bunch of test results accumulated over time.  It often means that no further testing is really necessary, just a new perspective on the interpretation of them (which is what we do best).
For those of you who have not had any functional tests done, it may be necessary to take the next step in getting better by finding the root cause, and this may require further digging.  Ordering tests can be confusing which is why we’ve decided to try and make it easier.
The tests and labs listed are not necessarily the end-all and be-all of testing.  We do not make any money from any sales made from test kits, but we do use most of these on a regular bases to provide us with the answers we are looking for.

23andMe

A comprehensive gene panel that can help you understand your genetic risk factors. Change what you can, manage what you can’t.

DUTCH Hormones

DUTCH testing offers the most extensive profile of sex and adrenal steroid hormones, along with their all-important metabolites.  This may be very useful when assessing for fertility, PCOS-type syndromes, adrenal fatigue and blood sugar imbalances.

Neurotransmitters

Urinary neuro-biogenic amines provides information on your ability to make and metabolise neurotransmitters, both in the periphery and, for some enzymes, behind the blood brain barrier as well.  Associations between urinary neurotransmitter levels and health conditions have been documented in scientific literature and may provide valuable insights as part of a comprehensive health assessment.

OAT and MOAT Test

The Organic Acids Test (OAT) offers a comprehensive metabolic snapshot of a patient’s overall health with over 70 markers.  I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t one of my favourite tests to interpret.  Easy to do with children and anyone who has a fear of needles whilst giving you a tremendous amount of information.

Visual Contrast Screening (VCS) Test

SurvivingMold provides an online VCS test that is not as good as using the hand held VCS tool, but sometimes this is all we’ve got.  It does however provide a cheap screening option that may validate further testing into possible mould and biotoxin exposure.

Lyme and Co-Infections

Lyme disease is pervasive and often the reason for autoimmune disease and numerous chronic illnesses.  It can often be missed by some labs, so it’s important to use labs that use reliable testing methods when it comes to Lyme.

Environmental Toxins

Every day, we are exposed to hundreds of toxic chemicals and metals. These may accumulate over time in the tissues of those who have poor detoxification mechanisms or who have lots of genetic SNPs on genes involved with the clearance of these substances and toxins.  What’s accumulating in your body?
